Deliciously soft and flavorful tortillas made from sourdough discard, perfect for wraps, tacos, or lasagna noodles.

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Sourdough starter (discarded)
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour (or whole wheat for a nutty flavor)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • Water (as needed)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the sourdough starter, flour, salt, and olive oil until a dough forms.
  2. If the dough is too dry, add water a little at a time until it comes together.
  3. Divide the dough into smaller portions and roll each one into a ball.
  4. On a floured surface, roll each ball into a thin circle, about 6-8 inches in diameter.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Cook each tortilla for about 1-2 minutes on each side until lightly browned.
  7. Use immediately for wraps, tacos, or as lasagna noodles.

Notes

For best results, roll the tortillas thin and keep them warm. Store leftovers in an airtight container layered with parchment paper.
