Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
- Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually incorporate this dry mixture into the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Decorate the cake with fresh flowers or fondant as desired.
Notes
Don’t overmix the batter for a lighter texture. Can use almond milk for a dairy-free version.
