- 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter (melted)
- 1 cup Light Brown Sugar
- 1/3 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 Large Egg (room temperature)
- 2 tbsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 1/4 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp Flaky Sea Salt
- 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- 1/2 cup Cocoa Powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan by greasing and lining it with parchment paper.
- For the cookie layer, whisk together melted butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large bowl until smooth. Stir in the egg and one tablespoon of vanilla extract. Gradually add flour, baking soda, and salt, then fold in chocolate chips.
- For the brownie layer, melt remaining butter and mix in cocoa powder, remaining vanilla and brown sugar. Gradually add flour until combined.
- Spread the cookie dough in the baking pan, then pour the brownie batter over and swirl them together with a knife.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
- Let cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For added flavor, feel free to mix in your favorite chocolate chips or nuts and serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
