A classic celebration dessert featuring fluffy vanilla cake layered and topped with rich frosting, perfect for birthdays and special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups Granulated sugar
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 Large eggs
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 cups Frosting (vanilla or chocolate)
  • Sprinkles for decoration, as desired

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just blended.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Cool the cakes in the pans for about 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
  7. Frost the tops of each layer with frosting and stack them, then frost the top and sides of the cake.
  8. Decorate with sprinkles and serve.

Notes

Use softened butter for easy creaming. For a nutty flavor, substitute almond milk for regular milk. Allow cakes to cool completely before frosting.
