- 2 pound Beef stew
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 1/4 tbsp Chopped sweet onion
- 1 tbsp crushed garlic clove
- 1 tbsp Cumin
- 1 tbsp Chili powder
- ½ tbsp Paprika
- 1 cup Crushed tomatoes
- tbsp Salt and black pepper as per taste
- ½ tbsp Brown sugar
- ½ tbsp White vinegar
- 1 can Red kidney beans
- 1 tbsp All-purpose flour
- 2 seeded and sliced jalapenos
- 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 chopped red onion for garnishing
Instructions
- Place a big stockpot over medium heat and add oil to it.
- Now add the beef stew to the pot. And cook until the beef completely turns brown. It is crucial to make sure that no redness remains in the meat.
- Next, add the onion and garlic and finely toss them in the pot. Then cook it for some time in low heat to let the onion become soft.
- Now add all the seasonings. Mix well the chili powder, cumin, salt, pepper, paprika, and brown sugar in the pot.
- Stir well the mixture so that the meat and onion blend well with the seasonings.
- Now add the beans, tomatoes, jalapenos, and vinegar and keep stirring everything. And then let it cook for 10 minutes at low heat.
- Lastly, add the flour and stir the content for 2-3 minutes to make it thick.
- Now bring down the pot from the oven and let the chili cool before you serve it.
- You can top the Chili with onions and shredded cheese. And for a full meal, you can serve the Chili with tortilla chips, slices of avocado, or sour cream.
