- ½ cup softened unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar

- ¾ cup milk
- 1 cup buttercream frosting
- Red food coloring to taste
- White food coloring to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with paper liners.
- Combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl. Mix well until incorporated.
- Add the softened unsalted butter, large eggs, vanilla extract, and milk to the dry ingredients. Beat everything together until smooth and well combined.
- Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full with the batter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cupcakes to cool completely on a wire rack.
- Divide the buttercream frosting into two bowls, coloring one portion red.
- Place both colors into a piping bag and pipe the frosting onto the cooled cupcakes in a swirling pattern.
