A vibrant turmeric tea recipe made with turmeric root or powder, ginger, lemon, and black pepper. This warming vegan drink supports digestion, boosts immunity, and gently energizes your day.

  • Total Time: 9 minutes
  • Yield: 2 cups 1x

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups water

1 teaspoon ground turmeric (or 1-inch fresh root, grated)

1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 pinch black pepper

1 teaspoon maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil the ingredients: Add water, turmeric, ginger, and black pepper to a saucepan. Bring to a simmer for 5–7 minutes.
  2. Strain and flavor: Remove from heat, strain into a mug, and stir in lemon juice and maple syrup if using.
  3. Serve warm: Enjoy immediately. Best consumed warm in the morning or after meals.

Notes

Use freshly grated turmeric for extra potency, but ground works well too. Always include a pinch of black pepper to help your body absorb curcumin. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
