Ingredients
2 cups water
1 teaspoon ground turmeric (or 1-inch fresh root, grated)
1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 pinch black pepper
1 teaspoon maple syrup (optional)
Instructions
- Boil the ingredients: Add water, turmeric, ginger, and black pepper to a saucepan. Bring to a simmer for 5–7 minutes.
- Strain and flavor: Remove from heat, strain into a mug, and stir in lemon juice and maple syrup if using.
- Serve warm: Enjoy immediately. Best consumed warm in the morning or after meals.
Notes
Use freshly grated turmeric for extra potency, but ground works well too. Always include a pinch of black pepper to help your body absorb curcumin. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
