  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 ¾ cups All-Purpose Flour
  • ½ tsp Baking Powder
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • Green Food Coloring (optional)
  • Icing and Sprinkles (for decorating)

Instructions

  1. Cream the softened butter and sugar together in a large bowl until light and fluffy (about 3 to 5 minutes).
  2. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until thoroughly combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture, mixing until a dough forms. Optionally, add green food coloring.
  5. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thickness and cut into desired shapes.
  8. Place cookie shapes on a lined baking sheet and bake for 8 to 10 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Let the cookies cool completely before decorating with icing and sprinkles.
