Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sushi Rice
  • 1 can Spam
  • 3 tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Mirin (optional)
  • Nori Sheets (as needed)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Water (for cooking rice)

Instructions

  1. Rinse sushi rice under cold water until clear, then cook according to package instructions. Season with a pinch of salt and allow to cool slightly.
  2. Slice Spam into rectangles about 1/4 inch thick. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook each side for 3-4 minutes until crispy. Add soy sauce and mirin, caramelize for about a minute.
  3. Mold the rice into a triangle shape, place a slice of glazed Spam in the center, encase it with rice, and wrap with nori strips. Repeat until all ingredients are used.

Notes

Best served warm with a dipping sauce like soy sauce or spicy mayo. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
