Ingredients

  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Light Corn Syrup
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon Peppermint Extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Food Coloring (optional)
  • Powdered Sugar for Dusting (as needed)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace by cleaning thoroughly or lining a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine granulated sugar, light corn syrup, and water. Stir gently over medium heat until boiling; refrain from stirring and let it simmer to 250°F (121°C).
  3. Dust your hands and work surface with powdered sugar. Roll the hot candy into ropes about 1/4 inch thick and cut into 1-inch pieces. Dust with additional powdered sugar and let set for at least 2 hours until fully hardened.

Notes

Store the candies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks.
