- 4 roasted tomatoes
- 4 roasted tomatillos
- 1 small quartered onion
- 2 unpeeled garlic cloves
- 1-2 jalapeños
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt to taste
- Chopped cilantro (optional)
- 1 lime juice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Toss the tomatoes, tomatillos, onion, garlic, and jalapeños with olive oil and salt on a baking sheet.
- Roast in the oven for 20-25 minutes until charred and softened.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven and cool slightly.
- Squeeze the garlic out of its skins and add all roasted ingredients to a blender or food processor.
- Add chopped cilantro and lime juice; blend until you reach your desired consistency.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, then serve with tortilla chips or as a topping for your favorite dishes.
Notes
