- 1/3 cup Granulated Sugar
- 3 tablespoons Pumpkin Puree
- 2 tablespoons Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1 teaspoon Pumpkin Pie Spice
- 3 1/2 cups Whole Milk (divided)
- 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
- 3 ounces Semi-sweet Chocolate (about 1/2 cup)
- 1/8 teaspoon Sea Salt
- Homemade Whipped Cream (for serving)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, whisk together the granulated sugar, pumpkin puree, cocoa powder, pumpkin pie spice, and 1/2 cup of milk until well-combined and heated through, about 2-3 minutes.
- Gradually add the remaining 3 cups of milk while continuously whisking. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it just begins to bubble, being careful not to let it boil.
- Turn off the heat and add in the chunks of semisweet chocolate and vanilla extract, whisking until melted and smooth.
- Pour into small mugs and top generously with homemade whipped cream.
Notes
For extra pumpkin spice flavor, sprinkle more spice on top of the whipped cream!
