- 2 slices Favorite Bread
- 1 medium Pear, sliced
- 1 medium Apple, sliced
- 1/2 cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredded
- 1 medium Onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon Butter
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Start by heating a pan over medium heat and adding the butter. Once melted, add the sliced onion and cook for about 15 minutes until golden brown.
- Assemble the sandwich by placing one slice of bread, layering with cheddar cheese, apple and pear slices, caramelized onions, seasoning, and topping with another slice of cheese and bread.
- In the same pan, add more butter if needed and place the sandwich, cooking for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
- Let the sandwich sit for a minute before slicing to meld the flavors together.
Notes
Feel free to use gluten-free bread or vegan cheese for dietary preferences. This sandwich pairs well with tomato soup or a garden salad.
