- 4 yams, peeled and chopped
- 2 cups mini marshmallows
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt for boiling, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel and chop yams into bite-sized pieces.
- Place yams in a pot, cover with water, and add salt; bring to a boil.
- Cook yams until tender, about 15-20 minutes; check with a fork.
- In a mixing bowl, combine mini marshmallows, chopped pecans, brown sugar, and butter.
- Drain the cooked yams and transfer to a baking dish.
- Spread the marshmallow mixture over the yams and gently fold them together.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until top is golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For added sweetness, drizzle maple syrup over the top before serving. Feel free to substitute pecans with walnuts or sunflower seeds if needed.
