Ingredients

  • 4 yams, peeled and chopped
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt for boiling, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel and chop yams into bite-sized pieces.
  3. Place yams in a pot, cover with water, and add salt; bring to a boil.
  4. Cook yams until tender, about 15-20 minutes; check with a fork.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine mini marshmallows, chopped pecans, brown sugar, and butter.
  6. Drain the cooked yams and transfer to a baking dish.
  7. Spread the marshmallow mixture over the yams and gently fold them together.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until top is golden brown.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For added sweetness, drizzle maple syrup over the top before serving. Feel free to substitute pecans with walnuts or sunflower seeds if needed.
