Ingredients

  • 3 cups (375 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp rapid-rise yeast
  • 1 ½ cups room temperature water
  • 1 large jalapeno pepper, seeded and diced
  • ½ cup (56.5 g) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup (56.5 g) mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced
  • 1 small jalapeno pepper, sliced

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, kosher salt, and rapid-rise yeast until combined.
  2. Gradually add the room temperature water and mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Gently fold in the diced jalapenos, sharp cheddar, mozzarella, and minced garlic.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a clean, greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap and let it rise at room temperature for about 18 hours.
  5. When ready, place the dough onto a floured piece of parchment paper, shape it into a ball, and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  6. Score the top with a sharp knife and sprinkle sliced jalapenos on top.
  7. Preheat a cold Dutch oven to 450°F.
  8. Transfer the dough into the hot Dutch oven and bake covered for 30 minutes.
  9. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Let the bread cool for 30 minutes on a wire rack before slicing.
