Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups Water
- 2 green tea bags or 2 tsp loose leaf green tea
- 1 apple, any sweet variety, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp honey (optional, adjust based on sweetness preference)
- Ice cubes
- 1/2 inch piece of ginger, peeled and grated (optional)
- Fresh mint or basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Start by bringing your water in a kettle or pot to a near boil.
- Add the green tea bags or loose leaf green tea to the hot water, along with the thin apple slices and grated ginger if using. Let steep for about 2 minutes, then remove tea bags or strain the loose tea.
- While the tea is warm, stir in honey to taste. Allow to cool, keeping the apple slices inside to infuse more flavor. Refrigerate until chilled.
- Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the apple-infused green tea over the ice. Garnish with a slice of apple and a sprig of mint or basil.
Notes
Avoid boiling water to prevent bitter tea. Thin apple slices infuse better flavors.
