- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup Brown sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) Active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 1/4 cup Unsalted butter, melted
- 1 Large egg
- 1 tablespoon Ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon Ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
- 1/4 cup Gingerbread frosting (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, gently heat milk and melted butter. Stir in the egg.
- Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Cover dough with a towel and let it rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes.
- Roll out the dough, sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg, and then roll tightly.
- Slice into pieces and place in a greased baking dish. Let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Once cooled slightly, drizzle with gingerbread frosting and serve.
Notes
These cinnamon rolls can be made ahead and stored for up to three days.
