A cooling yogurt dip featuring fresh cucumber and mint with a hint of lemon, perfect for complementing spicy dishes.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Fresh yogurt
  • 1 medium Grated cucumber
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped fresh mint leaves
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon Ground cumin powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Begin by grating the cucumber with a box grater or a food processor. After grating, squeeze it gently to remove any excess water.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add the fresh yogurt and whisk until it becomes smooth and creamy.
  3. Next, incorporate the grated cucumber along with the chopped fresh mint leaves into the yogurt. Mix thoroughly to combine all the flavors.
  4. Add the fresh lemon juice, salt to taste, and ground cumin powder if desired. Stir until all the ingredients are well blended and adjust the seasoning as necessary.
  5. Chill the raita in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to enhance the flavors. When ready to serve, give it a good stir to re-combine any separated ingredients.

Notes

Chill before serving for the best flavors. Use Greek yogurt for extra creaminess if desired.
