- 2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp salt

- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 cup hot water

- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Add in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well between additions, then stir in molasses.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with hot water until a smooth batter forms.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, and bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before transferring onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For variations, consider adding chopped nuts or chocolate chips for extra texture. Let the loaf cool completely before slicing for the best results.
