Deliciously vibrant Garlic Honey Ferment is a go-to for natural cold remedies, combining the health benefits of raw honey with the kick of fresh garlic.

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 1 jar (about 6 months) 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Raw Honey (unpasteurized)
  • 15 Garlic Cloves (peeled and lightly crushed)
  • 2 sprigs Fresh Thyme (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by peeling each garlic clove and gently crushing it with the side of a knife.
  2. In a clean glass jar, fill it about halfway with the crushed garlic cloves.
  3. Pour raw honey over the garlic until they are fully submerged, leaving 1-2 inches of air space at the top of the jar.
  4. Add thyme and red pepper flakes if desired, then gently stir with a wooden or silicone spoon to coat the garlic completely.

Notes

Loosely cover the jar and store it in a cool, dark place. Burp it daily for the first week, then every few days. The ferment is ready in 3-4 weeks.
