Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and quartered
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Boil the potatoes in a large pot of salted water for about 20 minutes until tender.
- In a separate saucepan, warm the milk and butter over low heat until the butter melts.
- Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash them until smooth, then mix in the warmed milk and butter mixture.
- Add the minced garlic and shredded cheddar cheese, stirring until combined.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for half of the butter. You can also customize the garlic level by using less garlic if desired.
