  • Total Time: 30
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil the potatoes in a large pot of salted water for about 20 minutes until tender.
  2. In a separate saucepan, warm the milk and butter over low heat until the butter melts.
  3. Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash them until smooth, then mix in the warmed milk and butter mixture.
  4. Add the minced garlic and shredded cheddar cheese, stirring until combined.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for half of the butter. You can also customize the garlic level by using less garlic if desired.
