Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup sourdough starter
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh herbs (thyme or rosemary)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the sourdough starter, warm water, olive oil, minced garlic, and chopped herbs. Stir until evenly mixed.
- Gradually add in the flour and salt, mixing until a rough dough forms. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and allow it to rise for about 4 to 6 hours until it doubles in size.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Allow it to rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Score the top of the loaf with a sharp knife, then bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
- Allow it to cool on a wire rack before slicing.
