Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups warm milk
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4-5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup garlic butter (for brushing)
- 2-3 cloves garlic, minced (for garlic butter)
Instructions
- In a cozy bowl, combine the warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let this mixture sit for 5-10 minutes until it foams.
- Add the melted butter and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually stir in the flour, one cup at a time, until a dough begins to form.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise until it doubles in size (about an hour).
- Punch the dough down, divide it into rolls, and lay them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush the tops of the rolls with a combination of garlic butter and minced garlic just before baking.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
For added flavor, consider sprinkling grated Parmesan cheese on the garlic butter before brushing. Store leftovers in an airtight container or freeze for later use.
