Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and align your baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Flour a clean surface and roll out the puff pastry sheets until they’re smooth. Cut them into strips about 1 inch wide for twisting.
- In a bowl, mix together the pumpkin puree, brown sugar, and pumpkin pie spice to create the filling.
- Spread an even amount of the pumpkin filling down the center of each pastry strip, leaving some edge room for twisting.
- Gently twist the pastry strips into spirals, ensuring that the filling stays inside and place them on the baking sheet.
- Whisk the egg with water and brush this mixture over each twist to give them a beautiful golden color when baked.
- Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they are puffed and golden brown.
- Once baked, let them cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar, and they are ready to serve!
Notes
Keep an eye on them during the last few minutes of baking for that perfect golden finish. Use a quality pumpkin puree for best results.
