Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
- Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy (3-5 minutes).
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in orange juice and zest.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in chopped dates and walnuts.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Prepare glaze by mixing powdered sugar with orange juice and drizzle over the cooled cake.
Notes
For a richer flavor, consider adding a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the batter.
