Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1¾ cups warm water
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Combine warm water and sugar in a mixing bowl. Sprinkle yeast and let sit until foamy (5-10 minutes).
- Add flour, kosher salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a sticky dough forms and rise covered for 1 to 1½ hours.
- Prepare toppings while the dough rises. Dimple the dough in a baking pan, add garlic, parmesan, and any herbs.
- Let the dough rise again for 20-30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
For gluten-free, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend. Experiment with different toppings like sun-dried tomatoes or herbs.
