- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 cup Granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp Baking powder
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 cup Cold unsalted butter (cubed)
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 2 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup Brown sugar
- 2 tbsp Ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup Melted butter
- 8 oz Softened cream cheese
- 1/4 cup Softened unsalted butter
- 2 cups Powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp Milk
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Blend in the cold butter until crumbly.
- Add buttermilk and vanilla extract, stirring gently until just combined.
- In a separate bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
- Sprinkle cinnamon mixture over the batter, then dollop the remaining batter on top and swirl gently.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top.
- For frosting, beat softened cream cheese and butter until smooth, gradually add powdered sugar, then stir in milk and vanilla.
- Once bars are cooled, frost generously, slice into rectangles, and serve.
Notes
Feel free to add chopped nuts or chocolate chips for extra flavor and texture.
