  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp Baking powder
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup Cold unsalted butter (cubed)
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup Melted butter
  • 8 oz Softened cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup Softened unsalted butter
  • 2 cups Powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Blend in the cold butter until crumbly.
  4. Add buttermilk and vanilla extract, stirring gently until just combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Sprinkle cinnamon mixture over the batter, then dollop the remaining batter on top and swirl gently.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top.
  9. For frosting, beat softened cream cheese and butter until smooth, gradually add powdered sugar, then stir in milk and vanilla.
  10. Once bars are cooled, frost generously, slice into rectangles, and serve.

Notes
