Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add to the creamed mixture until just combined.
- Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls, pressing your thumb into the center of each.
- Fill the thumbprints with chocolate chips or your favorite jam.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges are firm and centers remain soft. Allow to cool before transferring to a wire rack.
