- 1 cup All-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup Rolled oats
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 cup Butter, softened
- 1/2 cup Brown sugar
- 1/4 cup Granulated sugar
- 1 large Egg
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup Maple syrup
- 1/2 cup Chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, rolled oats, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat the egg and vanilla extract into the butter and sugar mixture until well blended.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined. Stir in the maple syrup and optional chopped nuts.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
These cookies can be customized with dried fruit or chocolate chips. For a gluten-free version, substitute all-purpose flour with gluten-free flour blends.
