- 1/4 cup crushed candy canes
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 to 4 minutes.
- Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract into the creamed mixture and beat until well incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix this into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in crushed candy canes.
- Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of dough and shape them into candy cane shapes on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
