  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 3/4 cups (220 g) All-Purpose Flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • 1 1/2 cups (255 g) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat until it turns golden brown.
  2. Combine warm brown butter with sugars in a mixing bowl and mix until creamy.
  3. Add egg, yolk, and vanilla extract; mix until combined.
  4. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl, then fold into wet ingredients until no flour streaks remain.
  5. Gently fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Transfer dough to a bowl, cover, and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  8. Scoop dough portions onto baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart, and bake for 12-13 minutes.
  9. Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top before cooling the cookies on a wire rack.
