A delightful dessert pairing juicy peaches and mixed berries in a buttery, golden topping. Perfect for summer gatherings and BBQs!

  • Total Time: 65 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe peaches, sliced
  • 2 cups mixed berries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/2 cup sugar, divided
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp flour or cornstarch
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. In a mixing bowl, toss the sliced peaches and mixed berries with 1/4 cup of sugar and the lemon juice. Allow this to sit for about 15 minutes.
  2. Add the flour or cornstarch to the fruit and mix gently. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, cinnamon, the remaining sugar, melted butter, and milk until you achieve a smooth batter.
  3. Pour the fruit mixture into a greased baking dish, spread it evenly and pour the batter over the fruit.
  4. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until the top is golden and the filling is bubbling. Let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Allowing the fruit to rest enhances its flavor. Customize with nuts or alternative sweeteners as desired.
